In the first installment of our thrilling ‘Exploring Your Control Panel’ series, we introduced you to your Dashboard, the Control Panel’s entry point. You can get a lot of things done right from your Dashboard but today we are diving into the true heart of the Control Panel, the Leads page.
If you polled a group of veteran GigMasters members, I bet the majority of them would tell you that the Leads page is their favorite section of the Control Panel. It's all about those leads after all - that's how you get booked.

The key to this page, in my humble opinion, is organization.
By default every new members starts with folders like Inbox and Trash. You also have a handful of empty Archive folders that you may use however you see fit. Many members create folders like: Booked Gigs, Upcoming Gigs, Past Gigs, Pending Gigs, etc. It's a great way to get organized and it helps to assure that no gig falls through the cracks.
Now, let’s take a closer look at one of those folders.
Here’s what your inbox looks like (please excuse all the blurring):
It’s pretty straight forward. Simply a list of your leads with basic gig and client info. The most important thing to take note of are the Booking buttons on the right side of the page - Book Now, Not Hired, etc.
Here’s a tip to help you avoid a rookie mistake: Don’t click the ‘Book Now’ button until your are certain that a client has agreed to book you. We’ve seen plenty of new members think it was as easy as clicking ‘Book Now’ for any gig you’d like to book. Only problem there, of course, is that you need the client's permission first!
Clicking on a Gig ID # will bring you to the lead itself (also known as a gig request) with all the event details. This is also where you submit your bid or, if you are not interested, politely decline. Here’s what a gig request looks like (sorry - more blurring to protect the innocent):
