Meet XinOu Wei, a New York-based violinist and a 4X Best of Award winner with over 50 bookings on The Bash! He has performed at prominent concert halls in New York, Berlin, Paris, Hamburg, Longone, and Lucerne.
XinOu has worked with some of the greatest conductors in the industry and has led various orchestras. Not only has he performed for major events, but he also performs regularly for weddings and other celebrations. He is passionate about performing solo or with three other virtuosic players who help him make up Quartet Alt Wien. He and his team are happy to accommodate special requests for any event. We recently caught up with XinOu to learn more about his special talent!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, what you do, and how you got started!
I am Xinou Wei, I play the violin, and I started on The Bash around 2019.
Can you share some details about a recent event?
It’s amazing to feel that you were so instrumental in helping to create a lifetime memory for someone that they will grow with, whether a surprise proposal or a wedding. Here is a photo of a lovely couple after their proposal, which I hid in their room during! It was really fun!

What is your key to closing leads?
I think having a reasonable price system, and being consistent with it!
What is your top tip for other vendors looking to get booked for weddings?
Good playing is a must, but you really don’t know what exactly the client wants, so just present yourself in your most real and best manner. If you don’t want to play pop, don’t play; if you can’t work at night, don’t do it! Do what you are comfortable with.
What is your key to making wedding clients happy?
I always give my all and beyond. I always feel strongly that I owe the client so much for their admiration for me, my playing, and for choosing me among a pool of people. Especially when they have heard me play in the past, only I can top their expectations—which is usually already very high.

What are you most looking forward to in 2024, and what business goals do you hope to achieve??
My goal is to finish editing my recordings from past events. My procrastination is serious and often a client would ask if I have a certain song in video form that they can hear, and I realize I do, but they are still in my SD card!
