About Mike Breeze and his professional speaking career.
Tell us a little bit about yourself, what you do, and how you got started!
My name is Mike Breeze, and I’m a professional speaker, author, and trainer with a passion for helping people achieve big goals. My journey into this work began in 2001, after watching my mom struggle for years to quit smoking—trying everything without success—until one day, she quit cold turkey. That moment lit a fire in me. I became obsessed with understanding why some people achieve their goals while others stay stuck, and how to bridge that gap.
Since then, I’ve made it my mission to teach people how to overcome procrastination, get clear on what they want, and actually follow through. I’ve had the honor of speaking to thousands across the country, from corporate teams to high school students, helping them move from stuck to unstoppable.
I’m known for high-energy keynotes that blend mindset strategies, real-world tools, and a touch of theatrical flair—like escaping from an authentic straitjacket live on stage to prove that limitations are meant to be broken.
What topics do you specialize in, and why are they important to you?
I specialize in the process of goal achievement, not just goal setting.
This topic matters to me because I’ve seen how many people fall short of their potential—not because they’re lazy, but because no one ever taught them the process of goal achievement. Whether I’m speaking to executives, educators, or students, my goal is always the same: to show them that success isn’t reserved for the “lucky” — it’s the result of strategy, structure, and belief.
What sets you apart from other speakers in the industry?
Three things: Energy, Engagement, and Execution.
Depending on the event, I open with a live straitjacket escape that grabs attention and sets the tone for the entire presentation.
I don’t just motivate — I equip. My presentations give people actionable strategies they can use immediately.
I guarantee results. If your audience isn’t on their feet applauding, you're not required to pay me. That’s my 100% satisfaction promise.
Also, I bring a wide range of experience—from law enforcement to stage performance to behavioral coaching—that lets me connect with just about any audience.
What is the #1 question you always ask clients about their event?
“What does success look like for you at this event?”
That one question helps me understand what really matters — whether it’s energizing a team, launching a new initiative, or leaving a lasting impression on attendees. Once I know the goal, I can reverse-engineer the experience to match it.
How do you tailor your presentation to different audiences, events, or industries?
Every audience is different — which is why I always do my homework. I’ll customize the stories, references, examples, and challenges I share to reflect that specific group.
Speaking to students? I talk about TikTok and test anxiety. Speaking to corporate leaders? I’ll hit on productivity, leadership, and culture. It’s not about changing the core message — it’s about making sure every example hits home for that particular room.
Can you walk us through your typical booking process from event request to event day?
First: I respond quickly. It's like the saying goes: "The early bird gets the worm."
Second: I call them immediately to discuss their event and to let them know I'm an actual person. This also allows me to let them know that I can customize my offer and to get a better feel for their event.
Third: I will email them any information that they requested from the phone call (head shots, one-sheets, etc.) and also tell them when I will follow up if I don't hear back from them.
Fourth: If I haven't heard back, I follow up with an email and often a phone call at the EXACT TIME that I told them I would previously and see if they are ready to move forward.
Fifth: Once the agreement has been signed and the deposit has been collected, I let them know that I will reach out one week prior to their event to ensure everything is still on schedule and to adjust any last-minute changes.
Sixth: When I arrive in town (usually the night before) I will notify my contact. This puts them at ease.
Seventh: I arrive early (at prearranged time) for any sound check needed, engage with attendees, deliver the presentation, and often stick around afterwards to answer any questions or to sign books.
I like to make the process smooth and stress-free for the event planner and the audience members alike!
What is your key to keeping the audience engaged?
Simple: Involvement.
I use humor, audience participation, stories, call-and-response, and even physical movement to keep energy high. People don’t learn best when they’re just watching—they learn best when they’re experiencing. And I make sure they feel the message, not just hear it.
Can you tell us about a recent speaking engagement?
One of my favorite recent events was a leadership conference built around the theme of “HOPE.” I opened with my signature straitjacket escape, and from there, we dove into the G.O.A.T. Method and what it really takes to break free from limiting beliefs and pursue meaningful goals.
After the presentation, a woman came up to me with tears in her eyes and said, “This has truly impacted my life. I’ve been feeling lost for a long time… but now I know my purpose is bigger than me.”
Moments like that remind me why I do what I do. It's not just about motivation — it's about helping people reconnect with what matters most and take action toward it.
What is your top tip for other speakers looking to get booked for corporate events?
You have to be married to your topic. This can’t just be something you talk about — it has to be something you live. People can instantly tell if you're just chasing a paycheck or if you genuinely believe in your message.
My best advice? Be so passionate about what you speak on that you’d shout it from the rooftops. When people hear your topic, your name should be the first one that comes to mind. That only happens when your message is authentic, lived-out, and deeply connected to who you are. Passion is contagious — and in this business, it's your most powerful marketing tool.
What goals or dreams do you have for your business in the next year or two?
1) Expanding my UN-Stuck presentation into more corporate and educational markets.
2) Growing my online course, Achieve It!, to help people achieve their big goals. Whether it is to stop smoking, lose weight, get that raise/promotion at work, or just become the person they are meant to become.
3) Launching my YouTube channel The 15 Minute Edge, where I interview high-performers to give listeners quick, actionable takeaways they can use right away.
4) The dream? To create ripple effects of success that reach homes, classrooms, and boardrooms all over the country.
