Meet the Dina Preston Band, an award-winning, Phoenix-based group known for high-energy performances and world-class musicianship. With a sound that blends Americana, country, and rock, the band has built a reputation for delivering unforgettable live shows everywhere from private events to international stages. We caught up with the band to learn more about their journey, global performances, and their success on The Bash.

The Story Behind the Dina Preston Band's Success

Tell us a little about your band. How did the Dina Preston Band get started?

The Dina Preston Band originally began as the San Diego Road Band, performing throughout the U.S. and Canada before expanding internationally. Over time, the group evolved into what is now the Dina Preston Band.

Today, we blend Americana, country, and rock into a signature sound that connects with audiences everywhere we go. Their latest album, We’ve Been Everywhere, produced by Grammy® winner Rudy Perez, features charting singles, including “Hard Workin’ Man,” which reached #47 on the iTunes Country Charts, along with another single that charted at #98—major milestones for an independent band.

What kind of music do you play, and what types of events do you typically perform?

We’re versatile and can play just about everything, but our specialty is country, classic rock, Americana, and high-energy variety music—with a touch of jazz when the setting calls for it.

We regularly perform at concert venues and performing arts centers, festivals and fairs, corporate and convention events, private gatherings and ticketed showcases, and benefit concerts and mission-driven events.

As an Armed Forces Professional Entertainment band, we’ve toured in 44 countries on 28 world tours on behalf of the U.S. State Department and for corporate clients. We’ve performed across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, building a global reputation for connecting with diverse audiences.

This year, we've been hitting the U.S. performing at the House of Blues in New Orleans, Henry’s Listening Room in Baton Rouge, ASU Kerr Cultural Center in Scottsdale for a benefit concert supporting André House, and in Duluth, Minnesota. We’re especially excited to perform on the main stage at the North Shore Jazz Summit in June 2026.

Our joy is to continue to captivate audiences with our signature sound and unforgettable live shows.

What’s one performance or event that really stands out to you and why?

One of the most meaningful performances was our last historic cultural diplomacy tour across Tunisia. We performed in five major cities, bringing American music and cultural exchange to Tunisian audiences. It was a powerful reminder of how music transcends language and culture and can strengthen international relationships through a shared experience.

I would hire this band again in a heartbeat. Everyone who was at the party (age range from 25-68) loved them. They played music from different genres, (ACDC to Chris Stapleton) and from the differ (1)

What do you love most about performing live?

The people and the energy. There’s nothing like the connection between a band and an audience. For us, it’s never about us—it’s about them. We want every audience to walk away remembering the experience long after the last song ends.

You’ve had a lot of success over the years on The Bash. What’s been the key to turning inquiries into bookings?

You’ve got to know how to sell—and then you’ve got to deliver. Clear communication, professionalism, and exceeding expectations have been the keys to turning inquiries into clients.

You’ve been a member of The Bash since 2006. How has being part of the platform helped your band grow, and what advice would you give to bands just getting started?

Being on The Bash has opened doors to unique and interesting events that may not have come our way otherwise. It’s expanded our reach and introduced us to clients across the country.

For bands just getting started: respond quickly, present yourself professionally, communicate clearly, and always overdeliver. Your reputation is everything.
